Mr Levit and Dr Barnard both hold advanced qualifications in contact lens practice, which, is one of the main specialities within the practice.
We fit all types of contact lenses and regularly receive referrals from Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeons for specialist lenses.
Alex Levit is one of only eight optometrists in the whole of the UK who are "accredited" members of the British Orthokeratolohy Society. Orthokeratolgy is the specialist technique that removes shortsight using contact lenses.
The types of lenses fitted include:
- Standard soft and rigid gas permeable (RGP) spherical lenses
- Toric (astigmatic) soft and RGP lenses
- Bifocal and varifocal lenses
- Complex medical cases e.g., Keratoconus and post-corneal grafts or following laser surgery
- Scleral lenses
- Orthokeratology to remove short sightedness
- Tinted lenses and “special effects” lenses
Following an eye examination, a further appointment is usually required for a "contact lens assessment" and subsequently a fitting or re-fitting appointment.
The fitting fee includes all the appointments and materials (mainly trial lenses) until the satisfactory conclusion of the fitting, in the three months following the first appointment.
